Srinagar, Sep 13: Dental surgeons from Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday staged a protest in Srinagar expressing anger over the non-advertisement of posts for the last 17 years and urged the government to take immediate action on the issue.

Speaking to reporters as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the protesting dental surgeons said they have worked hard to reach this stage, yet successive governments have failed to deliver on their promises. “Seventeen years is a very long period. Governments come and go, promises are made, but nothing changes for us.”

“We have worked hard to qualify, and the government must now think about us and address why these posts are not being advertised,” they said.

The protestors further added that the uncertainty has left thousands of qualified dental professionals unsettled about their future.

“We only want the government to wake up to our plight, issue the long-pending posts, and help us secure a dignified and settled future,” they said.
