Baramulla, May 25: The internal arrangement of teachers allegedly continues in Baramulla district in violation of the strict orders issued by the School Education Department (SED).
The internal arrangement of teachers is made at a time when the SED and Joint Director north Kashmir has issued repeated instructions to the CEOs to refrain from adjusting teachers through internal arrangements.
However, the repeated violation of norms has sparked outrage among the teaching community who accuse the authorities of promoting favoritism in the department.
As per the official details, a teacher (name withheld) was transferred to High School Khoja Bagh after he was relieved from the office of CEO Baramulla.
However, few months later, the master was transferred to Government Middle School (GMS) Gantamulla Bala which falls under the jurisdiction of Education Zone Fatehgarh. The transfer was made vide vide DSEK’s Order No. 128-DSEK of 2025 dated May 17, 2025.
Under this order, the DSEK ordered a reshuffle of masters across the Kashmir division.
According to the officials GMS Gantamulla has only three classes- 6th to 8th and has witnessed a dwindling trend in the student enrollment.
However, after the transfer order issued by the DSEK, the teacher posted at GMS Gantamulla was deployed by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Fatehgarh to Boys Middle School (BMS) Sheeri Payeen.
According to the officials, the adjustment was made on the basis of the verbal orders.
Not only this, but there are other such cases wherein the zonal and district education authorities have made internal adjustment of teachers in the district.
Another teacher posted in education Zone Fathegarh was transferred from one school to another school in the same zone by CEO Baramulla.
This newspaper earlier reported that the Joint Director north Kashmir has ordered all the CEOs of north Kashmir districts to do away with making internal adjustment of teachers.
Joint Director (JD) School Education Department north Kashmir districts when contacted said the matter will be looked into.
