Kishtwar, Nov 15: The District Administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports Kishtwar, on Saturday organised a vibrant and impactful celebration of Janjati Diwas & Gaurav Diwas.
The event, as per the DYSS official statement, turned into a powerful display of unity, culture and national pride as thousands of students, along with employees of the Youth Services & Sports Department and various other departments, participated to commemorate India’s rich tribal heritage and the invaluable contributions of tribal communities.
The programme was led and graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), who served as the chief guest. He was accompanied by dignitaries from multiple departments who motivated students with inspiring messages on preserving cultural identity, promoting inclusivity and recognising the sacrifices of tribal heroes.
Students raised energetic slogans, showcased cultural performances and participated in awareness rallies highlighting the significance of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. The presence of teachers, officials and community members added further grandeur to the celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Pawan Kotwal (JKAS) appreciated the joint efforts of YSS Kishtwar and the District Administration in mobilising massive youth participation. He emphasised the importance of educating younger generations about the legacy of tribal warriors, particularly Bhagwan Birsa Munda, whose birth anniversary is commemorated through this national day.
