Kishtwar, Mar 28: The Youth Services & Sports Department Kishtwar on Saturday organised a district-wide Earth Hour Pledge event, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, staff and local communities across various zones of the district.
The programme, as per an official statement, was conducted under the directions of Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K, Anuradha Gupta and under the guidance of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jaffer Haider Sheikh with overall supervision of all Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs).
The event aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation, energy saving and the importance of collective action in combating climate change.
Students and participants took a solemn pledge to switch off non-essential lights and electrical appliances during Earth Hour, symbolizing their commitment towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
