Pahalgam, Sep 16: Farooq Rafiquee clinched the title at the Golfing in Paradise 2 tournament at the Pahalgam Golf Course, showcasing consistency and precision to outplay more than 50 golfers from across India and Kashmir.
As per a statement issued on Tuesday, the Sara Group, in collaboration with JK Tourism, Welcome Hotel Pine N Peak and Fortune Resort Heevan, successfully hosted the Golfing in Paradise 2 tournament at Pahalgam Golf Course.
The event witnessed participation from over 30 leading golfers from across the country alongside more than 25 of Kashmir’s top golfers, making it one of the region’s most competitive golfing events.
The tournament, held on September 13, 2025, was graced by esteemed dignitaries Dr Farooq Abdullah, Nasir Aslam Wani and Altaf Ahmad Kaloo as chief guests. Unlike traditional formats, the competition featured specially designated ‘secret holes’, with the champion decided on the basis of the lowest strokes recorded on them.
Emerging victorious was Farooq Rafiquee, who showcased remarkable consistency and precision to clinch the championship title. The runner-up spot went to Tahir M Wani, who had earlier won the prestigious Fourball Greensome championship at the Royal Springs Golf Course.
The event not only highlighted Kashmir’s growing golfing culture but also reaffirmed Pahalgam Golf Course as a premier destination for national-level tournaments.
