Srinagar, Sep 5: Hamdaniya FC clinched the 2nd edition of the CRPF Football Cup 2025 with a 3–1 victory over Ganderbal United FC in the final held at the Synthetic Football Turf, TRC Srinagar, capping a week-long U-23 tournament.
As per a statement issued, the 2nd Edition of the CRPF Football Cup 2025, organised by Srinagar Sector CRPF as part of the Civic Action Program in association with the J&K Sports Council under the umbrella of My Youth My Pride, witnessed spirited participation from 16 U-23 teams across the Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal districts.
In the thrilling final, goals for Hamdaniya FC were scored by Kifayat (2) and Tabin Shafi, while Mubashir scored the lone goal for Ganderbal United FC. Rajesh Kumar, IPS, ADG J&K Zone CRPF, graced the event as chief guest. PR Jambholkar, DIG Administration, Srinagar Sector; Anupam Srivastava, DIG Kashmir Ops Sector; Shri DK Singh, DIG Operations; HS Kales, DIG P&A; Vivek Bhandral, DIG GC Srinagar; Amit Butola, DIG (Medical); commandants and senior officers of Srinagar Sector and Kashmir Ops Sector CRPF; AN Shah, Head of Administration, Paras Hospitals; Faisal from Real Kashmir FC; officials from JK Sports Council; District Football Association; and senior officers from J&K Police and CAPFs were among the distinguished guests.
Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF, delivered the welcome address and thanked the chief guest and other dignitaries for their august presence.
Shri Rajesh Kumar, IPS, ADG J&K Zone CRPF, said that football tournaments are being organised with an aim to use the energy of youth in a positive direction. He congratulated the winning and runners-up teams and commended their dedication and sportsmanship.
He lauded the Srinagar Sector CRPF for organising one edition of the CRPF Cricket Cup and the CRPF Football Cup every year, which provides an opportunity for emerging young talent of the valley to showcase their skills. He further added that this year, in the 2nd Edition of the CRPF Football Cup 2025, a platform was provided to under-23age group players.
8 teams from Srinagar, 4 teams from Budgam and 4 teams from Ganderbal districts participated in a knockout format from 29 Aug to 4 Sep at Synthetic Football Turf, TRC Srinagar.
Most of the players were studying in high school and belong to downtown Srinagar and rural areas in Budgam and Ganderbal. He thanked the J&K Sports Council for facilitating synthetic football turf and their immense support during the tournament. The experience of playing in the CRPF Football Cup increases their visibility among Premier Division Football Clubs, which contributes to the advancement of their football careers.
