Srinagar, Oct 27 : Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday said that a 5-member high-level team from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will arrive in Kishtwar on Tuesday for a two-day visit to assess the proposed airport project under the Centre’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme.
In a post on X, the minister, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that he team’s visit is aimed at evaluating the feasibility and current status of the airport proposal.
“After completing its review, the team will return to New Delhi to submit its report to higher authorities, following which the next steps for the project will be finalised,” he said.
He said the initiative reflects PM Modi’s special focus on ensuring the development of far-flung and remote regions. “As a result of PM Modi’s special priority for far-flung regions, it is gratifying that each of our requests and initiatives for the development of the remote areas has always received a positive response,” he said—(KNO)
