IED recovered, destroyed through controlled explosion in J&K’s Rajouri

Rajouri, Jan 15; Security forces recovered a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing around three kilograms in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Thursday.

They said the recovery was made by forces during an anti-terror operation launched in Kakora village of Manjakote Police Station jurisdiction of Rajouri district.

“Based on specific intelligence inputs, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kakora village and launched searches. During the operation, a suspected material was recovered from forest which was later examined by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and found to be an IED,” officials said.

The weight of the IED is said to be around three kilograms and it has been destroyed through a controlled mechanism, officials added.
