India issues travel advisory for Thailand amid border tensions with Cambodia

New Delhi, Jul 25: The Indian Embassy in Thailand has issued a travel advisory for Indian nationals planning to visit Thailand, urging caution in light of the ongoing unrest along the Thailand–Cambodia border. Citing security concerns, Indian travellers are advised to avoid travel to specific regions and closely follow updates from official Thai sources, including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and TAT Newsroom.

As per the latest advisory issued on July 24, 2025, several tourist attractions and border areas across seven Thai provinces: Ubon Ratchathani, Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat are not recommended for travel.

These include national parks, ancient temples, and border checkpoints. Travellers are encouraged to check with relevant provincial TAT offices or contact the TAT Call Centre at 1672 for real-time information and updates. The Indian Embassy has urged all citizens to remain vigilant and prioritise safety while planning trips to the region.
