Indian Army personnel donate blood, save woman’s life in Rajouri

Rajouri, Jan 08: A woman patient admitted at GMC Associated Hospital, Rajouri, was saved on Thursday after the Indian Army swiftly responded to an urgent call for blood raised by her family members.

According to sources, the patient Gudi wife of Masqeen resident of Banna, Mahore in Reasi was in a critical condition and required immediate blood transfusion of B Positive blood to survive.

Despite efforts, the required blood units could not be arranged, prompting the family to raise a distress call for help.

Responding promptly to the SOS, a team from the Indian Army’s Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) was mobilised from Gambhir Army Camp that arrived in GMC Associated Hospital within just twenty minutes.

The army personnel reached GMC Associated Hospital without delay and voluntarily donated the required number of blood units at the civil hospital.

The donated blood was immediately transfused to the patient, helping stabilise her condition and saving her life.

Family members and local civilians expressed deep gratitude to the army personnel, hailing the gesture as a humanitarian act that reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to serving the nation not only on the borders but also in times of civilian distress.
