INS Sudarshini reaches Malta on global voyage Lokayan-26

New Delhi, Mar14: The Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived at the historic port of Valletta on March 12, 2026, as part of its transoceanic expedition Lokayan-26. The visit marks an important milestone in the vessel’s ambitious 22,000-nautical-mile global voyage and highlights the longstanding maritime ties between India and Malta.

The ship reached Valletta after successfully transiting the Suez Canal and making a port call at Alexandria.

Soon after arrival, the Commanding Officer of INS Sudarshini called on Rachita Bhandari, the High Commissioner of India to Malta. During the meeting, both sides highlighted the role of the Indian Navy in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Bhandari said the ship’s visit symbolises India’s maritime vision of MAHASAGAR and helps deepen maritime cooperation while strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
