Anantnag, Jun 22: The 11th Annual Conference of the Jammu and Kashmir State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), JAKASICON 2025, concluded successfully on Sunday at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag.
The three-day event drew participation from specialist and super-specialist surgeons, as well as resident doctors from across the country.
Organised by the Department of General and Minimal Access Surgery, the conference featured high-end research presentations, expert-led discussions, and sessions focused on the latest in surgical management techniques.
The final day featured scholarly presentations by residents from various medical colleges, highlighting clinical innovations and vibrant academic discourse.
The following awards were presented during the closing ceremony:Hajra Ali Memorial Paper Presentation; first DrGurveenKaur, GMC Srinagar, Dr Elizabeth, GMC Anantnag and third Dr Raj Swethan, GMC Srinagar MayaSham Poster Presentation: first Dr Raj Swethan, GMC Srinagar;DrRaheel Mughal, SKIMS and third DrManveer Singh, ASCOMS Dr KL Kapoor Quiz Competition: First ,Team GMC Srinagar – Dr. Haris and Dr. Raj Swethan Second: Team GMC Anantnag – Dr. Shahubudin and Dr. Niraj Third: Team GMC Jammu – Dr. Akhilesh and Dr. Simriddhi The conference was held under the patronage of GMC Anantnag Principal Prof DrRukhsanaNajeeb and chaired by DrNazirWani, Head of the Department of Surgery.
A valedictory ceremony was held where all contributors were honored with mementoes presented by DrNajeeb. DrZahid Mohammad Rather, treasurer of the organising committee, delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, guests and organizers.
