New Delhi, Sept 08: Five people were killed and at least seven others seriously wounded when suspected Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a bus stop in northern Jerusalem, the BBC reported, quoting Israeli paramedics and police.
According to Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service, the victims included three men in their 30s, a woman in her 50s, and a man in his 50s. Nine people suffering from gunshot wounds and three others injured by shattered glass were taken to nearby hospitals.
Police said two attackers fired at civilians waiting at Ramot Junction on the city’s outskirts. A security officer and an armed civilian returned fire, killing both assailants, reports BBC.
