Srinagar, Oct 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association has finalised a 12-member team along with two officials to participate in the 50th Junior National Carrom Championship, scheduled to be held from November 1 to 4, 2025, at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
As per a statement issued on Tuesday, the national championship is being organised by the All India Carrom Federation in collaboration with the State Carrom Association, Madhya Pradesh, and the Gwalior Jila Carrom Association.
The selection process was conducted by the Association’s Selection Committee comprising Adil Shah (President), Mudasir Khan (General Secretary) and Arif Sultan (Treasurer), under the supervision of the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council Selection Committee headed by Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar (Manager, Bakshi Stadium) and Shabir Ahmad Dar (In-charge, Sports Stadium, Budgam) on 6th October 2025 at Carrom Hall, Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
The selected players underwent a 14-day coaching camp at Carrom Hall, Bakshi Stadium, followed by a screening session conducted by Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar (Manager Bakshi Stadium), Hilal Ahmad Bhat (Dy. Manager Polo Ground Srinagar) and Burhan Ahmad (KICOE, J&K Sports Council) at Indoor Stadium, Polo Ground.
Selected Players in junior boys include Faizan Firdous, Faaliq Farooq, Shahid Gul, Hassan Adil, Aakib Sultani and Arhaan Khan
In Youth Boys category Zaid Bin Ajaz and Momin Mehraj were finalised.
In Junior Girls Pakeezah Firdous, Saeedah Adil and Farheen Mukhtar were finalised. Mehak Jan made in Youth Girls category.
The statement added that additionally, Adil Shah, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association, will accompany the contingent and attend the Working Committee Meeting of the All India Carrom Federation scheduled during the championship.
