Safapora, Sep 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s IRP 8th Battalion organised a two-day inter-school volleyball tournament at Government Middle School, Safapora, with eight teams competing under the Civic Action Programme and distribution of volleyball kits to 8 volleyball teams from (08) different schools. Under Civic Action Programme 2025-26.
As per a statement, a total of 08 school teams from the Tulmulla zone participated enthusiastically in the tournament. After two days of spirited competition and exemplary sportsmanship, Government Middle School Safapora emerged as the tournament champions, showcasing remarkable talent and teamwork.
The event was graced by the presence of the Commandant, IRP 8th Battalion, along with other senior officers and ranks. The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Tulmulla, who played a pivotal role in coordinating and mobilising schools for the tournament, was also present, along with officials from the Chief Education Office (CEO).
In his closing address, the Commandant of the IRP 8th Battalion commended the participating students for their enthusiasm and urged them to continue their involvement in sports and other constructive activities. He emphasised the role of sports in youth development and national integration.
