Jammu, Jan 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has accorded sanction to the naming of Kathua Railway Station as “Martyr Captain Sunil Kumar Choudhary Kathia Railway Station” in the district of Kathua.
General Administration Department (GAD) Commissioner Secretary M Raju issued an order on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor, according sanction to the rechristening of Kathua Railway Station.
Following it, the Union Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh, who is also the Member Parliament from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, through a post on social media, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “expeditiously responding to the popular demand” presented before the PM “from the people of Kathua for renaming of Kathua Railway Station after the war martyr who was a son of the soil.”
Singh also thanked Home Minister Amit Shah and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their “kind cooperation in facilitating the official process.”
Meanwhile, the father of Captain Sunil Kumar Choudhary and other members of the family also thanked the government for renaming the station after their son.
