Anantnag, Mar 5: In a significant push to promote self-employment in the district, the Mission YUVA District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC), Anantnag, approved 362 cases during its 26th meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner (DDC) and Chairman DLIC, Dr Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat. It was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner (DNO, Mission YUVA), District Development Employment Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, representatives from the General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC), District Lead Bank Manager, DNO JKEDI, DDM NABARD, and other officials from the Employment Department, banks and allied institutions.
Sector-wise, the approved cases include 114 in the retail sector, 107 in transport and 34 in the service sector, besides several other small business ventures aimed at generating meaningful employment.
With the approval of these 362 cases, the total number of sanctioned cases in the district has reached 5,511, of which 2,215 beneficiaries have so far received bank loans.
Officials informed that 29.5 percent of the applications were submitted by women aspirants, reflecting growing participation of women in entrepreneurial activities across the district.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Bhat directed the concerned departments and banking institutions to ensure speedy processing of loan cases and provide necessary facilitation to applicants so that the benefits of Mission YUVA reach eligible youth without delay. He stressed the need for close coordination between banks and line departments to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.
The committee reiterated its commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship, promoting self-reliance and creating sustainable employment opportunities for youth through Mission YUVA in Anantnag district.
