Kashmir artisans get market-ready with training under MSME RAMP Programme

Srinagar, Oct 15: Amit Kumar Tamaria, Joint Director and Head of Office, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, visited the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED–IUST Foundation) at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Campus III, Awantipora.

During the visit, he interacted with university officials, startup founders, faculty coordinators, and student innovators, and was briefed on ongoing programs, incubation support, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem at CIED, said a press release.

He also toured various labs, including the C4i4 Lab, Design & Development Lab, Fab Lab, Training & Development Lab, and UltraTech Cement Lab, inspecting advanced equipment such as 3D printers, scanners, CNC machines, and laser cutting tools.

Tamaria appreciated IUST’s efforts in promoting grassroots innovation and supporting the MSME ecosystem, and highlighted the potential for collaboration under various MSME schemes. Dr. Parvez A. Mir, CEO of CIED–IUST Foundation, expressed optimism about strengthening partnerships with MSME to scale innovation-driven enterprises.
