Srinagar, Aug 30: National Conference MP Mian Altaf Ahmad expressed grief over the deaths of at least 11 people in Reasi and Ramban districts following landslides and a cloudburst, urging the government to provide immediate relief to affected families.
In a statement issued, Mian Altaf said that it was painful that at least eleven people lost their lives in the Jammu region, including seven members of a family in the Mahore area of Reasi, due to landslides triggered by heavy rains.
“I am deeply pained by the landslide in the Mahore area of Reasi that claimed seven members of a poor family. Besides, 4 precious lives have been lost in Ramban due to a cloudburst. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families, and I pray for the safety of those still missing,” Mian Altaf said.
Mian Altaf urged the government to make proper arrangements for the victims and stressed the need for immediate relief and assistance to the affected families due to natural calamities.
