Srinagar, Oct 11: Manzoor Wangnoo, Chairman of the Nigeen Lake Water Conservation Organization (NLCO) was presented the “Green Ambassador 2025 Award” at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar’s Annual Global Alumni Meet, SANGAM 2025.
As per a press release, the Green Ambassador Award specifically recognises Wangnoo’s tireless and impactful efforts in driving ecological restoration and water body conservation across Kashmir. Manzoor Wangnoo received the accolade from Prof. Ravinder Nath, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir. Wangnoo commented on the significance of the award. “I am incredibly honored and grateful for this recognition. My sincere thanks go to Prof. M. A. Shah, Dean Alumni & International Affairs, for the kind invitation and to NIT Srinagar for bestowing upon me the Green Ambassador 2025 Award,” said Wangnoo.
He emphasized that the recognition belonged to his entire ecosystem of support, stating, “This recognition is not mine alone; I wholeheartedly dedicate it to Team NLCO, our dedicated well-wishers, and above all, my beloved parents, whose blessings continue to guide every step of this journey.” NLCO continues its mission to promote environmental sustainability and lead the revival of key water ecosystems through community-driven initiatives and administrative partnership concluded Wangnoo.
