Kishtwar, May 20: An electrifying wave of sportsmanship swept across Kishtwar as over 1400 students participated in the Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions held under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan and DYSSO Jaffer Haider Sheikh.
The multi-zone tournament featured a diverse range of events—from athletics to kabaddi, rope skipping to chess—across zones including Inderwal, Kishtwar, Nagseni, Paddar, Drabshalla, and Marwah. With enthusiastic participation from boys and girls across all age categories, the initiative highlighted the district’s dedication to nurturing grassroots talent and promoting a vibrant sports culture.
Inderwal Zone electrified the Sheep Group Chatroo venue with U-14 and U-17 girls’ competitions in kabaddi, kho-kho, carrom, chess, and rope skipping, drawing 130 spirited participants.
Kishtwar Zone hosted a thrilling display of U-17 boys’ and girls’ athletics, featuring running, jumping, and throwing events, with around 200 athletes competing with zeal.
Nagseni Zone brought the Chowgan Ground to life with U-17 boys’ and girls’ Kabaddi matches, engaging 115 enthusiastic players.
Paddar Zone celebrated a massive turnout of 900 boys and girls from middle, high, and higher secondary schools in U-14 and U-17 categories, concluding a dynamic tournament with the dedicated support of physical education staff.
Drabshalla Zone saw 110 U-17 boys compete fiercely in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Volleyball, transforming Drabshalla into a hub of competitive spirit.
Marwah Zone fostered sportsmanship through diverse disciplines at GHSS Sounder, captivating participants and spectators alike.
The tireless efforts of Zonal Physical Education Officers, officials, and field staff ensured seamless execution, making these events a resounding success. This initiative underscores Kishtwar’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting a culture of sports and fitness.
