Srinagar, Aug 2: Paras Health Srinagar has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), marking a key milestone in its commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostics in the region.
A statement of the Paras Health Srinagar issued here said that while the hospital was already accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), this latest NABL recognition specifically affirms the lab’s excellence in diagnostic standards and practices.
A statement said that the recognition follows a thorough evaluation with more than 300 quality checks and affirms the lab’s adherence to national standards for accuracy, reliability, and operational efficiency.
The facility met all required benchmarks, including regular quality assessments under the supervision of AIIMS New Delhi and CMC Vellore, supported by monthly data sharing to ensure consistency.
Operating 24/7, the lab provides round-the-clock services, including home sample collection. It is equipped with fully automated analysers and managed by a trained technical team.
While offering precision on par with top national centres, the lab continues to maintain affordable pricing, ensuring wider access to reliable testing.
“This NABL accreditation confirms that our lab follows strict protocols for accuracy, standardisation, and reporting. It means every test result we provide, whether it is a complete blood count, liver function test, thyroid profile or microbiology culture, goes through defined procedures, routine quality checks, and properly calibrated equipment. Patients and doctors in Jammu and Kashmir can now rely on our lab for reports that meet national standards without needing to send samples to labs outside the region,” said Dr Suhail Mushtaq Wani, Senior Consultant and Lab Head, Paras Health Srinagar.
Dr Nadia Jeelani, Senior Consultant, Pathology said, “We had to make major improvements across the board, including implementing sample tracking through bar-coding, using fully automated analysers and running daily internal quality control. Our staff underwent intensive training to align with NABL requirements. As a result, we are now able to deliver faster reports with better accuracy.”
