PDP holds meeting in Chattabal

Srinagar, Feb 28: Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party senior leader and Constituency Incharge Habba Kadal Arif Laigroo, along with former MLA Noor Mohd Sheikh, held a meeting in Chattabal ward to deliberate on pressing civic and public concerns.

The meeting, organised by Ward President Chattabal Hajra Ji, witnessed strong resentment from residents over the deteriorating condition of drains and lanes, which remain in shambles and continue to cause serious inconvenience, said a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Arif Laigroo hit out at the sitting MLA Shamima Firdous for being “missing from the ground” while people struggle with basic amenities. He said that elected representatives must remain accessible and accountable to the public.

Laigroo also highlighted growing anger over high-rise electricity bills, stating that several consumers have been left without electricity during the holy month of Ramadhan due to disconnections. “People are already burdened with soaring bills, and disconnecting electricity during Ramadhan is deeply distressing. Authorities must adopt a humanitarian approach,” he said.
