On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed his dedication to accelerate the nation’s progress to achieve the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, urging citizens to unite and commit to a 24/7 effort toward this goal.

Speaking from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day, PM Modi emphasized that under his leadership, India aims to become the third-largest economy during his third term, working at a pace three times faster to achieve the country’s aspirations. He expressed confidence in overcoming challenges, saying, “I am not afraid of obstacles because I live for my country and its people. Let’s join together in this 24X7 commitment for 2047 to fulfill the dreams of our ancestors.”

He also reflected on the significant reforms implemented by the government in the past decade, which have enhanced the youth’s self-confidence and ambition. “The country waited for reforms, and we seized the opportunity to make impactful changes. These reforms were not for minor accolades but to strengthen our nation,” he said. PM Modi also pointed out that India’s youth now aims to take giant leaps, not just small steps, marking this era as a golden one for the nation.

The Prime Minister noted the transformation in sectors like tourism, MSMEs, and healthcare, underscoring the role of technology and innovation in ensuring that these sectors thrive. “Every sector needs modernization, and we must support these advancements for the nation to achieve its full potential,” he remarked.

PM Modi also paid tribute to the contributions of farmers, soldiers, youth, and other sectors in driving the nation’s progress. He emphasized national unity and the collective strength of India’s 1.4 billion people, recalling how 40 crore Indians showed courage and unity in the struggle for independence. “If they could achieve freedom, then we, 140 crore Indians, can certainly fulfill the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said.

Reiterating the nation’s commitment to becoming self-reliant in every field, PM Modi called on all citizens to live for the nation, just as the leaders of the past did in the fight for independence. “If we have the same resolve and dedication, we will make India a developed nation by 2047,” he concluded.

The Prime Minister’s address was warmly welcomed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other officials. Dressed in a white kurta, blue attire, and a traditional multicolored safa, PM Modi marked his 11th address from the Red Fort, joining only Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi in this prestigious achievement. This year’s theme, ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047,’ reflects the government’s efforts to transform India into a developed nation by its centenary of independence.
