Srinagar, Jan 16: In a major action against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag attached property belonging to a notorious drug peddler involved in multiple narcotics cases.
As per the statement, Police Station Bijbehara attached a TATA Safari vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-9999, owned by Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, resident of Gadhanjipora Bijbehara. The accused is a notorious drug peddler who has been repeatedly involved in drug trafficking activities. He was recently arrested in connection with FIR No. 241/2025 under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bijbehara.
This property attachment is part of the sustained drive by J&K Police to dismantle drug networks and strike at the financial assets of offenders. Such measures are intended to send a strong message that those indulging in drug peddling will face strict legal consequences, including seizure of their ill-gotten assets.
J&K Police remain committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and urge citizens to extend their cooperation by reporting any drug-related activities in their localities, the statement reads.
