Kupwara, Feb 05: Kupwara Police on Thursday stepped up its drive against drug trafficking by freezing illegally acquired assets in Narcotic Drugs And Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act case registered at Police Station Kupwara.
The action relates to FIR No. 186/2025 registered under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act. During the investigation, police recovered a heroin-like substance along with cash amounting to Rs 4,93,100 (Rupees Four Lakh Ninety-Three Thousand One Hundred), suspected to be proceeds of narcotics trafficking.
Further investigation revealed the accused’s involvement in the sale and distribution of narcotic substances. Accordingly, a freezing order under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act was issued to prevent transfer or disposal of illegally acquired property.
All seizure and freezing proceedings were conducted strictly as per law. The matter has been forwarded to the competent authority for confirmation.
Kupwara Police remain firmly committed to zero tolerance against the drug menace.
