Police recover charas from residential house in Shopian, accused arrested

Srinagar, Oct 27: In its continued crackdown against drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian have recovered contraband substance from a residential house in Zainapora area.

A police spokesperson said that acting on specific information, Police Station Zainapora registered a case under FIR No. 98/2025 and obtained a search warrant from the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Shopian. A team from Police Station Zainapora accompanied by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, raided the house of Ainaul Ul Huda Dar, resident of Darbagh. During the search, 1.164Kgs of charas-like substance was seized.

The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway, spokesperson said.

Police reiterated its commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and urged the public to extend cooperation.
