Srinagar, Apr 30: Police in Baramulla solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from his possession.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that on 29 April 2025, Police Station Uri received a written complaint from Altaf Ahmad Lone, son of Gh Nabi Lone, resident of Uri stating therein that during the intervening nights of 28/29 April 2025, some unknown persons had entered his premises and stolen his scooty bearing registration number JK05N-5492 which was parked on the roadside near his residence.
The spokesperson said, accordingly, a case vide FIR No 45/2025, under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Uri and an investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident and surrounding areas was collected and thoroughly analysed. Based on the evidence, investigating team zeroed in on one suspect person identified as Gulzar Ahmad Parray, son of Habibullah Parray, resident of Balkote. Following sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. Subsequently, he was arrested and, on his disclosure, stolen property was recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case is going on, spokesperson added.
