In her message, the President said, “I am happy to know that ‘World Tuberculosis Day’ is being celebrated on 24th March to raise awareness about the global challenge posed by Tuberculosis (TB).” Highlighting the scale of the disease, she noted, “Tuberculosis continues to pose a significant public health challenge, affecting millions of lives across the world.”

At the same time, she pointed to progress made under government initiatives, stating, “However, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has made remarkable progress in expanding early diagnosis, ensuring free treatment, strengthening nutritional support and improving patient care.” She added that these efforts reflect “our shared determination and the strength of the National TB Elimination Programme.” Calling for sustained efforts, President Murmu urged, “I urge all stakeholders to work together with collective resolve to end tuberculosis once and for all.”
