New Delhi, June 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation visit from June 15 to 19, covering the Republic of Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia. The tour includes high-level bilateral meetings, strategic dialogues, and participation in the G-7 Summit in Canada. According to an official press release, the visit reaffirms India’s commitment to deepening ties with the Mediterranean, North American, and Central European regions.
Visit to Cyprus: June 15–16
Prime Minister Modi will begin his trip in Cyprus at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Nikos Christodoulides. The Ministry of External Affairs stated, “This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Cyprus in over two decades.”
During the visit to Nicosia, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with President Christodoulides aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors. He will also address business leaders in Limassol. “The visit will reaffirm the shared commitment of the two countries to deepen bilateral ties and strengthen India’s engagement with the Mediterranean region and the European Union,” the official statement read.
G-7 Summit in Canada: June 16–17
In the second leg of the tour, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Kananaskis, Canada, on June 16 and 17 to participate in the G-7 Summit at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Mark Carney. This would be Prime Minister’s 6th consecutive participation in the G-7 Summit. PM Modi will take part in high-level sessions with leaders of G-7 countries, invited outreach partners, and heads of international organisations.
“At the Summit, Prime Minister will exchange views with leaders of G-7 countries, other invited outreach countries and Heads of International Organisations on crucial global issues, including energy security, technology and innovation, particularly the AI-energy nexus and Quantum-related issues,” the statement said. The Prime Minister is also expected to hold multiple bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
Visit to Croatia: June 18
In the final leg of his tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Croatia on June 18 at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Mr. Andrej Plenković.
This will be the first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, marking an important milestone in the bilateral relationship. PM Modi will hold formal discussions with Prime Minister Plenković and also meet the President of Croatia, H.E. Mr. Zoran Milanović.
“The visit to Croatia will also underscore India’s commitment to further strengthening its engagement with partners in the European Union,” the official statement concluded. The three-nation visit is seen as part of India’s larger diplomatic outreach, enhancing strategic, economic, and technological partnerships in key global regions.
