Srinagar, May 21: IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar has approved Aryans Institute of Management and Technology, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh to start UGC approved Paramedical Courses, B. Sc in Optometry with 30 seats from this session (Reference number IKGPTU/CD/7083) from the session 2025-26.
According to a statement, Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group, mentioned that this programme is envisaged to develop multipurpose ophthalmic manpower at the allied health level. The training will enable a student to become competent in providing service as an Optician, Optometrist. In the past decade, there is a huge dearth of trained ophthalmic manpower using advanced technology in vision care science, Kataria asserted.
It is worth mentioning that recently, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has awarded Aryans Group of Colleges for Excellence in Paramedical and nursing education. Where Education Minister, Punjab S. Harjot Singh Bains was the Guest of Honour the award was received by Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group.
Aryans Group is already running Paramedical courses, including Radiology, Cardiac Care, Operation Theatre, Anesthesia, Medical Life Sciences are under IKGPTU, Jalandhar. Aryans Institute of Nursing is already running B. Sc. Nursing, GNM & ANM approved from Punjab Government & INC New Delhi, affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot & Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), Mohali, respectively. B. Pharma & Physiotherapy are affiliated to MRSPTU, Bathinda & PCI, New Delhi while D. Pharma is approved by Punjab Govt. Certificate courses including Home Care Helper, Operation Theatre Attendant, Ambulance & Hospital Attendant, are also available under Punjab Govt.
