Ramban, Jan 24: Vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway would remain suspended on January 25 due to heavy snow accumulation at several stretches, particularly between Nachlana and the Navyug Tunnel, officials said late Saturday evening.
Authorities said that snow clearance operations were currently underway.
However, no vehicular traffic would be allowed from Nagrota, Jammu, towards Doda, Ramban, Banihal, and Srinagar, and vice versa, until further notice.
The Jammu-Doda road has also been closed due to adverse weather conditions.
Commuters travelling to and from Katra, Reasi, and Udhampur towns have been advised to carry valid photo identity cards to facilitate smooth movement at checkpoints.
Meanwhile, the Kishtwar-Sinthan Top-Anantnag road continues to remain closed for vehicular traffic owing to fresh snowfall.
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road and the Mughal Road have also been closed due to heavy snow accumulation, disrupting connectivity to several regions.
Traffic authorities have urged commuters to avoid unnecessary travel and to remain updated about the latest road status through the official Traffic Police X handle, Facebook page, and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
Further advisories would be issued depending on weather conditions and the progress of snow clearance operations.
