Singapore PM to visit India from Sep 2-4

New Delhi, Sep 2: At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will undertake an official visit to India from September 2 to 4.

This marks his first visit to the country since assuming office. He will be accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation comprising Cabinet ministers and senior officials.

During the visit, Mr. Wong will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi on September 4. He is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and other senior Indian leaders. Singapore is regarded as a key partner in India’s ‘Act East’ policy. Last year, during Mr. Modi’s visit to Singapore, the two nations upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This year’s visit carries added significance as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Singapore.
