Srinagar DC Pays Visit to Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom Shrine at Makhdoom Sahib

Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar, visited the shrine of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arfeen, Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom (R.A), located in the Makhdoom Sahab area of Srinagar today. His visit was aimed at reviewing the preparations for the upcoming Urs, which is expected to attract a large number of devotees from across Kashmir.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that all arrangements are in place for the safe and smooth conduct of the event. During his visit, Dr. Bilal evaluated key aspects of the preparations, including water supply, electricity, traffic management, crowd control, sanitation, and essential services such as medical facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner also met with members of the Auqaf Committee, local residents, and administration officials to discuss the final stages of planning.

Dr. Bilal directed the concerned authorities to ensure an uninterrupted water supply for the devotees and emphasized the importance of cleanliness around the shrine. He also instructed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to take necessary actions to maintain hygiene.

Additionally, the Power Development Department (PDD) was instructed to guarantee a continuous, 24/7 power supply in the area. He also ordered the deployment of medical teams during the Urs days to ensure the health and safety of attendees.

“The safety and comfort of the devotees are our top priorities,” Dr. Bilal stated. “We are committed to ensuring all necessary arrangements are made to facilitate a peaceful and orderly observance of the Urs.”

He further added, “The shrine of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arfeen holds immense spiritual significance, and we are working hard to provide every facility to ensure a pleasant experience for the devotees.”

Dr. Bilal expressed satisfaction with the preparations thus far but stressed the importance of ongoing vigilance and coordination among all involved parties. He also urged all concerned departments to address any remaining issues quickly and maintain a high level of readiness as the event approaches.

The visit concluded with a walkthrough of the shrine premises, during which Dr. Bilal interacted with devotees and gathered feedback on the arrangements. He reassured them that any concerns would be addressed and encouraged cooperation with authorities to ensure the smooth conduct of the Urs.
