2 People Dead in Kathua Road Mishap

Kathua, Nov 1: Two people lost their lives as their truck plunged from a bridge in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, this Wednesday. The incident occurred at Bagiyal Morh, near Barnoti, while the truck was en route from Pathankot in Punjab to Jammu. The deceased have been identified as Balwant Singh and Ranjeet Singh, hailing from Taran Taran district in Punjab. Rescue teams faced a challenging task in recovering the bodies from the severely damaged truck following the fall, a police official said. The bodies have been transferred to the Government Medical College in Kathua for post-mortem examination, the official added.

Six Injured in Road Accident in Doda

Doda, Oct 26: At least six people were injured in a road mishap in the Doda district of the Jammu region on Thursday. Quoting an official, Kashmir Scroll reported that a matador (Mini-Bus) bearing registration number JK06 A 8310 met with an accident at Pul Doda, resulting in injuries to six passengers on board. The officer said that all the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors shifted them to GMC Doda for advanced treatment. A doctor at GMC Doda said that all the injured persons are being tested and are stable.

5 policemen injured in Qazigund accident

Qazigund, Oct 24: At least five policemen were injured after a police vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road at Kurigam area of Qazigund in South Kashmir'a Kulgam district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer that a police 407 van skidded off the road at Kurigam, Qazigund, resulting in injuries to five police personnel. He said all the injured policemen were rushed to the emergency hospital in Qazigund for immediate medical attention, where from two among them have shifted to GMC Anantnag. The injured have been identified as Head Constable Mushtaq Ahmad, Constable Waseem Ahmad, Constable Murtaza Ahmad, Constable Amir Suhail and Special Police Officer (SPO) Driver Sajad Ahmad.

17 people injured after bus turns turtle in Rajouri

Rajouri, Dec 5: Seventeen guests on board a bus carrying wedding guests were injured in a road accident in Tarkundi near Line of Control in Rajouri district on Monday, officials said. As per police, the accident took place on Monday morning when the bus was plying on Tarkundi LoC road, and it turned turtle. The officials said that seventeen people were injured in the accident with four of the injured are having serious injuries. Soon after the accident, teams of army from Rashtriya Rifles camp under the aegis of Romeo Force launched a rescue operation. All the injured were rescued who have been rushed to the hospital, the officials said.

Mother-Son among 3 killed in Kathua road accident

Kathua, Dec 1: Three members of a family, including a mother-son duo, died and two others were critically injured in a road mishap in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night. Police sources said that five members of a family were travelling in a car when the driver lost control and it skidded off the road and plunged into a 300-ft-deep Sewa ‘nullah’ in Mangiar near Bani, leaving two occupants dead on the spot and others injured. A rescue operation was launched and the injured were evacuated to the hospital where one of the critically injured also succumbed to the injuries.
