Tanvir Sadiq inaugurates free medical camp at Mir Behri Dal

Srinagar, Sep 30: Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq inaugurated the first-ever free medical camp at Mir Behri Dal, an area inhabited by nearly 20,000 people that has historically been deprived of basic medical services.

The camp, organised with support from the Health Department, brought together a team of senior doctors and specialists from various fields who offered consultations and free medicines to the residents. Also present at the camp were the Deputy Director Health, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Block Medical Officer (BMO), and a full team of healthcare professionals, ensuring the camp’s success in delivering immediate medical aid to hundreds of patients.

Speaking at the event, Tanvir Sadiq said it was unfortunate that such a large and densely populated area, despite being part of Srinagar city, had been left without even the most basic health infrastructure for decades. “It is unacceptable that the people of Mir Behri Dal have had to live without access to medical facilities and proper road connectivity. Today’s camp is just a beginning. I am committed to establishing permanent healthcare facilities in this area on an urgent basis,” he said. In a personal gesture, Sadiq also donated additional medicines from his own resources to supplement those provided by the government.

Tanvir Sadiq announced a series of critical development projects aimed at transforming civic infrastructure in the region. Chief among them is the long-awaited Karam Shah Bridge, which he confirmed has now been finalised and will see construction begin as early as next month. He further announced the installation of calligraphic gates at key cultural and religious locations.
