Udhampur, Apr 25: Atleast two persons killed in a truck accident on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Bali Nallah Udhampur this afternoon.
Deputy Traffic Inspector (DTI) Javed Kataria said a tragic accident occurred today at around 1500 hours when a truck bearing registration number PB03BK-2041 over turned on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Moud near Bali Nalla in Udhampur, resulting in two fatalities.
The victims have been identified as Tarjeet Singh (46), son of Raghubir Singh, a resident of Pathankot, Punjab, and an unidentified individual.
He added that both were severely injured in the incident and were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Udhampur by traffic police and police teams, where doctors declared them brought dead.
He said the bodies have been shifted to the mortuary for postmortem proceedings.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident, and further details are awaited as authorities continue their probe, he added.
