Anantnag, Oct 07: Over half a dozen residential houses were damaged after a fire broke out in Qazi Mohalla area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Reports said that the blaze erupted from one of the houses and soon engulfed others in the vicinity, causing significant damage to property.
Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. The fire, which erupted at around 2:00 AM, was brought under control and prevented from spreading further. However, considerable damage had already been caused.
In the incident, two locals who were assisting the fire services and one firefighter sustained injuries. They were shifted for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire was not immediately known. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.(GNS)
