Jammu, Dec 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday directed expediting the pace of development works and strengthening of various wings of the Home Department through coordinated efforts.

Chairing a high-level review meeting of subordinate departments of the Home Department, at Lok Bhavan in Jammu, LG Sinha also instructed for the sensitisation of prison officers and staff and frequent checking and surveillance of prisons across J&K.

He took a comprehensive review of progress achieved under vital ongoing projects, including the construction of high high-security prison at Mahanpur Kathua; establishment of a cyber division at FSL Jammu, upgradation of the cyber division at FSL Srinagar, and construction of bunkers in the border districts of J&K.

The meeting discussed the budget and expenditure position of prisons, prosecution, Home Guards, CD, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, Forensic Sciences Laboratory, Sainik Welfare, and Advisory Board under PSA in BE 2025-26.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo; Director General of Police, Prisons, Deepak Kumar; Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti; Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Santosh D Vaidya; Principal Secretary to LG, Mandeep K Bhandari; Commandant General Home Guards, Abdul Ghani Mir; Director Fire and Emergency Services, Alok Kumar; Director Sainik Welfare Department, Brig (Retd) Pankaj Chib and Director, Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL), Om Prakash.
