Jammu, Feb 7: Satish Sharma, the Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services, and Sports, officially inaugurated the Inter-School Badminton Tournament at IDPS Jammu today. The event, organized under the auspices of the Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex, features players from 20 CBSE schools across the region and will run for two days.
In addition to the tournament, Satish Sharma also launched the IDPS Combat Academy for Martial Arts and the Splash Pool for the primary wing, marking an important step towards promoting health, fitness, and overall well-being among students.
During his speech, the Minister extended his best wishes to all participants and emphasized that the event celebrates not just talent and dedication but also the spirit of unity and teamwork that sports bring to young minds.
He encouraged the athletes to compete with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, stressing the importance of both striving for victory and embracing the values of healthy competition and mutual respect.
Sharma also highlighted the role of sports in shaping future leaders and fostering a well-rounded education. He praised the school’s contributions to the educational development of Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging its role in nurturing numerous accomplished individuals over the years.
