Srinagar, Mar 19: India will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday after the moon of Shawwal month of 1447 was not sighted in the country on Thursday.
Mufti Adil of the Ru’yat-e-Hilal Committee at Jama Masjid said that Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated in India on March 21, and Naib Shahi Imam Syed Shaban Bukhari also made a related announcement from Jama Masjid, as per media reports.
Chairman of the Lucknow Islamic Center, Maulana Khalid Rasheed, also announced that Eid will be on Saturday, March 21.
President of the Deccan Muslim Ulema Council Central Rohit Hilal Committee also announced that India will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 on Saturday, March 21, as the crescent moon has not been sighted today.
