Since the formation of the new Hockey Jammu & Kashmir Association in 2025, the organisation, as per a statement issued on Wednesday, has been working with a clear vision and in the right direction, focusing on merit-based selection, fitness, discipline, proper coaching and development of genuine talent.
Before 2025, J&K teams were often losing national-level matches by huge margins of 10, 15 and even 20 goals. Today, the picture has changed significantly. Our teams are not only competing strongly but are also winning matches with confidence and authority.
The latest 4–1 victory over Gujarat is another powerful example of this transformation.
This is not merely a victory in one match—it is the result of a better system, better selection and a focused approach towards player development since 2025.
Hockey Jammu & Kashmir deserves appreciation for bringing this positive change to the game. The players and coaching staff deserve equal credit for their dedication, hard work and commitment.
