MP bowlers rattle J&K batting line-up, take 76-run lead

Srinagar, Oct 12: Madhya Pradesh bowlers dismantled Jammu and Kashmir’s batting line-up, bundling out the defending champions for 120 runs to take a first-innings lead of 76 runs on Day 2 of their Ranji Trophy 2026-27 opener at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar on Monday.

Pace spearhead Avesh Khan led the attack, claiming three crucial wickets, while Aryan Pandey provided excellent support with three wickets of his own as J&K batters struggled to cope with the visitors’ bowling attack.

Kanhaiya Wadhawan was the highest scorer for J&K, remaining unbeaten on 35, but found little support from the other end as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

The hosts, who had bowled Madhya Pradesh out for 196 in the first innings, failed to capitalise on their bowling effort and were dismissed for 120, handing the visitors a significant 76-run first-innings advantage.
