J&K Police conducted Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings across police stations and posts in Handwara ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi to discuss security, traffic management and law and order arrangements.
The meetings, held under the supervision of senior officers, were attended by Lumberdars, Auqaf Committee members, traders and other community representatives.
Police urged participants to ensure that religious gatherings, processions and programmes are held peacefully and in accordance with prescribed rules. Auqaf representatives were asked to coordinate with police on programmes at mosques and other religious places and ensure proper crowd management.
Lumberdars were directed to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity or developments that could affect public order.
Participants assured police of their cooperation in maintaining peace, communal harmony and public order. Local issues and suggestions raised during the meetings were also discussed, with directions issued for their resolution.
Police appealed to people to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi peacefully and uphold brotherhood, harmony and tranquillity across the police district.
