The Department of Endocrinology, GMC Srinagar, in collaboration with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies on Ageing (CISA), Moul Mouj Foundation, will hold 2nd Annual International MMFDIACON-2026, to be held at Government Dental College Auditorium, Srinagar, on 31 August 2026.
The journey began with MMFDIACON-2025, which focused on diabetes and its complications in the elderly, bringing together clinicians and experts around the growing need for specialised, compassionate and evidence-based care for older persons.
A distinctive feature of the inaugural conference was the MMF Signature Lecture on “Moul.” This year, that tradition continues with the MMF Signature Lecture on “Mouj,” reflecting the Foundation’s evolving philosophy and its commitment to exploring the deeper dimensions of ageing, care and human dignity.
MMFDIACON-2026 takes this vision forward through the JK Obesity Summit, centred on “Decoding Obesity: From Biology to Remedy.” Obesity is no longer merely a lifestyle concern or a question of weight. It is a chronic disease with far-reaching consequences, increasing the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, fatty liver disease, sleep disorders, cancers, infertility, musculoskeletal problems and premature death. Its growing prevalence across age groups makes obesity prevention and comprehensive management an urgent healthcare priority.
Accredited with 4 CME Credit Hours by the Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council (JKMC), the conference will bring together more than 60 international, national and local faculty, who will speak, chair sessions and engage in multidisciplinary scientific discussions. The participation of international experts, with the requisite clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, duly in place, adds an important global dimension to the scientific programme. The sessions will cover the spectrum of contemporary obesity care—from public health and prevention to precision medicine, novel therapies, cardiometabolic disease, psychiatry, sleep apnoea, MASLD, bariatric surgery and emerging evidence.
Around 400 delegates are expected from GMC Handwara, JLNM Hospital, GMC Udhampur, GMC Kathua, GMC Baramulla, GMC Anantnag, GMC Srinagar, GDC Srinagar, SKIMS, KMC Sempora, and district hospitals, including DNB students from various districts.
The conference will also provide a dedicated platform for students and faculty to present free papers and scientific posters, showcasing original research, clinical experiences, innovative ideas and emerging evidence.
