SSGSERV marks 11 years, announces 1,500 jobs in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 25: SSGSERV, a global capability centre (GCC) enabler and technical and managed services provider, has announced plans to create 1,500 jobs in Srinagar over the next five years as it looks to expand global business operations from the Valley.

As part of its expansion plans, the company intends to develop Global Capability Centre operations in Srinagar, positioning the city as a potential destination for international businesses seeking skilled talent and support for core business functions.

GCCs are offshore centres that multinational companies establish to manage functions such as technology, business operations, research and development, and corporate support services.

Alongside the employment announcement, SSGSERV unveiled a training initiative under its Skill and Knowledge Development Programme to prepare local candidates for careers in the GCC sector.

The programme will feature a 1,000-hour training course, with a minimum of 25 batches planned annually. It will combine classroom instruction with practical, on-the-job training to equip participants with industry-relevant skills and workplace experience.

The initiative aims to create a structured pathway for young people in Kashmir to access employment opportunities in the global services industry without having to relocate outside the Valley.

A Kashmiri entrepreneur, Kanth, has built the company’s operations in the Valley over the past 11 years. His business interests also extend to Dubai and the United Kingdom, while he works in partnership with companies in the United States and the Philippines.

The company’s international business exposure is expected to inform its approach to developing service operations in Srinagar and preparing local talent for global employment requirements.

The anniversary event brought together employees, business partners and well-wishers who have been associated with the company’s journey since its establishment.

With its proposed GCC expansion and skills development initiative, SSGSERV aims to focus on local recruitment, workforce training and the creation of long-term employment opportunities in Srinagar.

The proposed creation of 1,500 jobs over five years would mark a significant expansion of the company’s local operations, while the training programme is intended to help build a pool of skilled candidates for the emerging GCC sector in Kashmir.
