ACC approves major bureaucratic reshuffle, several IAS and IPS officers assigned new roles

J&K Govt orders reshuffle in Police Department

New Delhi, Aug 26: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared a significant round of appointments and upgradations across various ministries and departments, assigning key positions to senior IAS and IPS officers.

According to an official order, Sanjay Rastogi (IAS:91) has been appointed as Director General, National Archives of India, while Anil Kumar Singhal (IAS:93) will now serve as Chief Executive Officer, National Rainfed Area Authority. Sudeep Jain (IAS:94) has been posted as Member Secretary, National Commission for Women, and Dheeraj Sahu (IAS:96) takes charge as Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy.

A. Anbarasu (IAS:96) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & DG (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence, while Lav Aggarwal (IAS:96) has been posted as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development. Sunil Kumar Barnwal (IAS:97) has been named CEO, National Health Authority, and Manish Bhardwaj (IAS:97) will serve as Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority.

Other key postings include Akash Tripathi (IAS:98) as MD, Solar Energy Corporation of India; Gyanesh Bharti (IAS:98) as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India; Hirdesh Kumar (IAS:99) as CEO, NATGRID; Diwakar Nath Misra (IAS:2000) as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue; Akhil Kumar (IPS:94) as MD/CEO, Digital India Corporation; Sandeep Sarkar (IDAS:95) as Additional Secretary & FA, DARE; and Anu P. Mathai (IES:95) as Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.

In addition, the ACC approved in-situ upgradations of Shantanu (IAS:97) as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of DoNER and Pawan Kumar Sharma (IAS:99) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence.

The reshuffle, officials said, is aimed at strengthening the administration with senior-level leadership across crucial sectors including defence, finance, health, education, renewable energy, and women & child development. (KNC)
