The Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), the apex representative body of healthcare providers across the nation, officially inaugurated its Jammu and Kashmir Chapter today in Srinagar.
The milestone launch event, hosted by the AHPI J&K organizing team, marks a strategic expansion aimed at realigning universal health coverage including strengthening healthcare infrastructure, fostering public-private dialogue, and streamlining clinical delivery networks across the Union Territory, said a press release.
The inaugural session was convened in the presence of esteemed national leadership, including Dr. Girdhar Gyani, National President of AHPI, and the Director General of AHPI. Joining the national leadership was Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Patron of AHPI, emphasizing the institutional integration of the new chapter into the broader northern healthcare framework. The event witnessed robust, enthusiastic participation from institutional leaders, medical directors, and administrators representing private and corporate hospitals from across the entire Kashmir valley. The assembly served as a vital forum for regional healthcare stakeholders to articulate systemic operational bottlenecks and align on strategic resolutions.
A major focal point of the chapter’s maiden session was an open, candid deliberation on the structural and financial challenges currently confronting local hospitals. Key issues tabled by participating healthcare providers included necessity for standardizing timelines and resolving prolonged delays in the clearance of outstanding claims under the various government schemes, highlighting the need for a simplified regulatory framework with a demand for a cohesive, unified platform to represent the collective grievances of healthcare facilities before state administrative bodies, it added.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Girdhar Gyani emphasized that the J&K Chapter will serve as a resilient bridge between healthcare providers and regulatory authorities, ensuring that administrative policy is informed by ground-level operational realities with that our core focus will be the professional development and upskilling of paramedics, recognizing them as the vital backbone of emergency response and patient care delivery across Jammu & Kashmir . The Jammu and Kashmir Chapter will be lead under leadership of Dr Imran Muzzafar and associate Dr Pervez Ahmad Sofi, Dr Sandeep Mengi ,Dr Murtaza Habib, Dr Ubaid Hamid . The overwhelming response and active participation from Kashmir’s medical community underscore a collective optimism and a shared anticipation for tangible, structural reforms within the region’s healthcare architecture. With the formal establishment of the J&K Chapter, AHPI reinforces its commitment to championing the sustainability of healthcare providers while ensuring the delivery of accessible, high-quality, and equitable medical services across Jammu and Kashmir, it further said.
