Amit Shah inaugurates Tech Park, GREMI campus in Ahmedabad

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the newly built Million Minds Tech Park and GREMI City Campus in Ahmedabad, saying the projects would strengthen Gujarat’s position in emerging technologies and high-skill industries. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and several other dignitaries were present at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah said the projects reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making Gujarat a major hub for technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and advanced industries. He said Gujarat, which has played a leading role in India’s industrial development, would also emerge as a frontrunner in sectors such as artificial intelligence, deep technology, robotics, quantum computing and semiconductors.

The Home Minister said the Million Minds Tech Park, spread over 13.5 lakh square feet and built at a cost of around Rs 1,100 crore, would provide workspace for nearly 9,000 skilled professionals in its first phase. He added that the project, planned across seven phases with an estimated investment of Rs 15,000 crore, is expected to generate more than 63,000 jobs over the next five years.

Amit Shah said the integrated 65-acre tech park would include commercial spaces, residential facilities, hotels and malls, helping position Ahmedabad alongside major technology hubs such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Gurugram.

He also inaugurated the Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute (GREMI) Campus, describing it as a major initiative for professionalising India’s real estate and urban planning sectors. The institute’s first campus, spread across 30,000 square feet, will initially accommodate 300 students, while a larger 100-acre campus near Thol Lake is planned at a cost of Rs 500 crore.

Shah said India’s future economy would be driven by AI and deep technology, adding that the Modi government is focused on creating the right ecosystem for youth working in advanced sectors including cybersecurity, automation, defence and space technology.
