Athwas India XI FC registered a 2-0 victory over United Elegant FC in the Kashmir Super League (KSL) Season 2 on Wednesday, ending United Elegant’s campaign in the tournament.
Faisal Thakur opened the scoring for Athwas India XI before Adnan Ayoub added a second goal to put his side firmly in control.
As per a statement, United Elegant FC tried to fight their way back into the contest but could not find a breakthrough as Athwas India XI held on to their advantage until the final whistle.
Adnan Ayoub was adjudged the Man of the Match for his impressive performance.
With the defeat, United Elegant FC are now out of the tournament, while Athwas India XI FC strengthened their position in the competition.
The KSL action will continue on Thursday, with New JK United FC taking on Aqua Kashmir Avengers FC in the next fixture.
